British PM In Damage Control Over Expenses
– Releases Irrefutable Photographic Evidence That He Is Not Spending Expense Money On Clothes For His Wife –
British politicians from both parties have been under attack recently about using government expense account money to pay a wide variety of personal bills.
UK’s Prime Minister Gordon Brown, in an effort to deflect criticism of his role in the scandal, released the following graphic photo proving that none of his expense money went to purchase clothes for his wife:

You could spend the entire day watching Scooby Doo cartoons and not see a worse outfit than the one Sara Brown wore to the EU headquarters in Belgium.
In fairness, the meeting was a round table meeting of charity organizations, so perhaps Sara was showing off what kind of bargains you can find at the Salvation Army thrift store.
Seriously. You’re the first lady of the second most important country in the free world. How is it you don’t have a personal consultant who’ll level with you and let you know that, when you have hips like Rush Limbaugh, you don’t want to wear a cinched jacket that flares just above the part of your body that has the same square acreage as Wales?
What the hell is that top she’s wearing anyway? With the flouncy collar and the rope in the front it looks like some kind of combination life vest and water skiing harness that she forgot to inflate.
Hey, I understand not everyone can be like Michelle Obama and exude style and elegance while they’re tearing down dry wall; but, if you’re in the public eye, the least you can do is have somebody Tivo a couple of episodes of Tim Gunn’s Guide to Style so you don’t look like you raided the dumpster behind K-Mart back in 1987.
One other note of commentary…
These politicians should be ashamed of themselves. The scandal is just another example of how government is way more inefficient than the private sector. Padding your expense account is something businesses figured out back in the 1950s and British MPs are just getting around to it now.
If British politicians were any further behind the times they’d still be eating fish and chips out of newspaper instead of cardboard containers.
Wait, … what?
