Build Social Networking Tools

Networking is important. It is not just used for effective communication (in a conversational sense) – it also sells. So what are some companies doing? According to BBC News, companies are pumping money into online networking. How much, you ask? Well, by 2013, it is projected that $10 Million $50 Million $500 Million $1 Billion $2.5 Billion$5 Billion will be invested on social networking tools.

This money has to go to somewhere… or someone!

The world of business will get to see what is on offer in the Web 2.0 world as vendors take the wraps off a raft of products, services and applications during this week’s conference in San Francisco.

Everything from the latest in cloud computing to blogging software and from mobile technology to rich media applications will be on show.

With around 7,000 people expected to attend, some bloggers have already nicknamed the conference a “five-day retreat to the Disneyland for grown-up web nerds”.

Also taking part is a Web Mission from the UK which consists of more than 20 entrepreneurs looking to forge useful business connections and showcase British internet companies.

The businesses, which were selected from over 100 applicants, were chosen because they have the potential to expand into the US.

Is this the start of a new bubble? Or should people jump on board ASAP?

I say do it cautiously. Make some money and invest it in something long-term. What do you think about this?

  1. Don’t forget virtual worlds, and Second Life in particular!
Lots of money will flow in such kind of sector in the next years, because Virtual Worlds are a natural evolution of social networks!
