BumpTop is a beautiful and stunning 3D overlay for computers running Windows which transforms your personal computer (desktop, laptop) to make it act like a real desk. The idea was great but the problem was the medium on how you carry on your tasks which is still using a keyboard and a mouse that dramatically decrease the real “desk” experience.
This known hindrance was given a solution by its creators by adding multi-touch support that react sensitively to gestures.
There are so many devices and software popping up that utilize touch screen technology and what is interesting is the companys’ claim that its using its own patent. What makes their touch different from the rest? I haven’t read the coverage of their patent but their touch technology says it allows to use all five fingers, both hands and can even recognize when your hands are facing the side. Also, the company says gestures like “lasso”, “shove”, “scrunch”, “fan out” are unique to their technology. Additional features include tossing of files onto USB drives, thumbnail previews without watermarks and some extras.
BumpTop software is free and can be download here (download for BumpTop). The BumpTop with multitouch support currently cost $29.
