Scott Allen of Linked Intelligence hosted our Business Channel Theme Day: "Being August". Scott had this brilliant idea of using the definition of the word August for our theme day.
August is defined in dictionary.com as
- inspiring reverence or admiration; of supreme dignity or grandeur; majestic: an august performance of a religious drama.
- venerable; eminent: an august personage.
It is not a commonly use term in a conversation. However, the business channel bloggers came up with great posts about "being August". Check out how they were able to relate it to the different topics they are blogging:
Jonathan Farrington at Leadership Turn: "The pleasure that is Paris in August"
Mary Emma Allen at Home Biz Notes: "Developing an "august" home business"
Kelly Phillips Erb at Tax Girl: "Under the Influence"
Rachel Clarke at Behind the Buzz: "Can conversational marketing be August?"
Rico Mossesgeld at Contract Worker: "Why "august" (the adjective) is important for freelancers?"
Darlene McDaniel at Interview Chatter: "Are you August?"
Des Walsh at Business and Blogging: "Would you rather your company was revered or profitable?"
Tris Hussey at Pimp your Work: "Being that it’s August, let’s talk hardware and heat"
Jim Norton at Small Business Boomers: "August"
Scott Allen at Linked Intelligence: "Character: 7 ways to not just have it, but show it"
Here’s mine, Property Crossroads: Barbara Corcoran: a $1,000 to $5 Billion dollar inspiration
I hope you enjoy reading them as much as I did. Now, August will not just be another month for me. These creative articles gave me a whole different outlook about "August". How about you, what can you associate with "being August"?

Great job, Maricel, for this round up of theme day posts.
