With more than 9.8 million square feet of meeting, exhibit and trade show space citywide, Las Vegas is obviously a hot spot for conventions and business travel. The city can accommodate any type of meeting — large or small. Las Vegas has more than 140,500 hotel and motel rooms, most of which are located within four miles of the Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC).
The Las Vegas airport (McCarran International) is just one mile from The Strip and 3 1/2 miles from LVCC. With the convenient taxi and limo services, top notch restaurants, and of course the shows, spas, golf and gaming, it’s no wonder Las Vegas is perfect for business travelers.
Las Vegas is Smart for Business
- On average, attendance at Vegas tradeshows attract 14% more attendees, providing more leads, contacts and business ultimately helping your bottom line. (Source: Exhibit Surveys)
- Tradeshow attendees to Vegas also tend to be decision makers and spend more time on the show floor (11.5 hours vs. 5.8-9.5 in other cities). (Source: Exhibit Surveys)
- For years, Las Vegas has helped companies’ bottom lines by hosting thousands of successful meetings, tradeshows and conventions. There are more than 22,000 meetings or tradeshows held in Vegas annually.

Glad to have found out about this contest in the nick of time!
The best tip I can offer any traveler is to carry their own flashlight. You never know when the power is going to be out or if you’re going to be in dim light areas. Particularly useful when you’re in the hotel room.
Mapquest all of your destinations so you are on time for all of your appointments.
make sure u have a place that u keep ur money safe from and plan a list of items u will need before hand chec the weather where ur going on the computer before u go there and bring a snack along or a book or music incase u get bored
Carry in your laptop bag, a blanket, crackers and all your chargers. I have an Ipod touch that I download audible books to and have a great selection for the plane rides and the layovers.
Have access to backups when it comes to pertinent business items.
Take a basic black 3 piece suit if you are a female and change it up by day or nite for Business or pleaseure. (Skirt, Blazer, Slacks), might save you alot of packing

have records kept separately of all your account numbers and contact numbers in case your wallet gets stolen or lost.
Drink water on the plane and stay away from soda and alcohol.
on long flights bring your own headphones!
Take your time – most mistakes are made when you are rushing around. Get a good nights sleep, get up early, and get ready early – that way, if you’ve forgotten something, you still have plenty of time!
Wear comfortable shoes
Don’t forget the TSA people will probably trash your whole bag, so don’t pack it such that it will be hard to reassemble.
Take along some snacks in case you get stranded at the airport or airplane
Comfy shoes, comfy clothes and an iPod is a must!
Baby wipes in a freezer bag.
bring a map.
When traveling for business it’s so important to carry-on luggage and bring a stain remover pen. Trust me! Thanks for the giveaway!
Make a list of everything in your suitcase as you pack and check it before you get ready to return home. You would be surprised how many things are accidentally left behind.
Carry some earplugs and hand sanitizer!
Try to incorporate a visit to a local museum or do some special sightseeing during your stay. I especially enjoy taking river taxis or harbor cruises whenever I can. Or, have lunch/dinner with an old friend who happens to live in town.
Wear your expensive jewelry (and don’t take it off) and take some inexpensive bangles along in your purse for variety. But, don’t wear too much Bling.
Always take your favorite book, bath gel, room freshener, slippers and pjs so you can end your day in comfort.
Before travelling, call and chat with the hotel’s Concierge for interesting suggestions and specials (on museums, salons etc) going on in town.
Always travel in comfortable beautiful style.
Find the exercise room at your hotel and have a least a brief work out to deter jeg lag or business meeting back pain from sitting all day.
heels do you no good in the airport while running from one terminal to the next – wear sensible shoes.
Just enjoy
Take a Iron!
Always pack healthy munchies in your carry on
Pack an extra outfit in your carryon bag in case your luggage goes somewhere else.
Always bring extra cash, you never know what might happen.
Make sure to join the hotel’s affinity program…you get rewards and nice perks…
Travel light
Only book direct flights (whenever possible). Live hear a major airline’s hub, so you can go most places non-stop
Be prepared when going through the airport security, have your laptop out and open, wear easily removable shoes and don’t have mystery metal on your body i.e. medal clips in clothing, suspenders or shoes. This will make passing through security quicker for everyone
Plan ahead. Bring along paper copies of your itineraries, maps, directions, etc. You can dispose (recycling!) along the way when you no longer need them.
Bring along your laptop when you travel to find deals and info about the places you go to.
Women, when traveling via plane, don’t wear hose. Long shot, but if there’s a crash and fire and you have to run through it, those hose will melt to your legs.
Hmmmm, let me end with something more positive:
Instead of using your hard-earned money to buy snacks in your hotel room, stock up before you go on your trip. Bring sweet and salty snacks, drink packets, napkins, etc.
My best tip or piece of advice for business travel is to use the Internet to shop around for the best prices.
