Business Women: What Is YOUR Sacrifice?

A lot of women who are in business, whether single, married, childless or 5+ children have given up something to be a business woman. No matter what it is or how insignificant it’s deemed, a sacrifice is a sacrifice.

What’s YOUR sacrifice?

The reason I ask is to see how focused we all are with our businesses or in our executive positions. You see, women in business is no new thing, but the sacrifices women make are changing each day. For instance, a lot of women who are work-from-home moms gave up the comfort of a steady paycheck and engaging adult conversation for the isolated life – often teeming with folks under two years old and pajama-clad at 2:00 in the afternoons.

Then, there’s the single gal who perhaps is in business for herself or who’s climbing the corporate ladder, but longs for the family life, or maybe even a little “she-time” every now and then.

What about the woman who put off starting her own business until she raised her family and got them out of the house so she could concentrate on what she “wanted to do with her life.” Yes, just about every business woman has made SOME sacrifice. What’s yours?

I for one am still in the process of raising my family. Although there are no regrets, I often get impatient with trying to grow my business and wondering if I will EVER find the necessary time to do the things that need to be done to get there. A long process no doubt, but I can’t help but wonder.
