Retail Locations will always have some people that have no clue about what they are selling. I tried buying at a store but ended up walking away and researching online and buying over the phone. What I love that the reps did not hesitate to transfer me to someone that actually knew about this service rather than fake it.
Keep in mind that EVDO is a relatively new service in most parts of Canada (especially outside of native Telus lands - AB,BC).

My experience was with the Hillside store, Tina the store manager was who I worked with. I've also had a good experience with the Sidney store and (now closed) Broadmeade one as well (where I got my Berry two years ago).

I had a really good experience at Tom Harris Cellular in Tillicum Centre when I renewed the plans for me and my wife. The woman who helped us thought that one of the newer plans would save us money, but calculated the costs for the new versus old and instead told us to stick with what we had because it would be much cheaper. Given that she was surprised at this result, I think she believed the new plan would be cheaper and was looking out for us.

I have no issue recommending Tom Harris Cellular either, at least their Tillicum Mall store.
