Byron Velvick Vs. His Fiance’ ?

     In a year when I am able to write about happy, on the water angler relationships; I am also able to write about unhappy, off the water angler relationships. BassFan.com and several other news outlets have reported that angling veteran Byron Velvick has been the victim of a domestic abuse case.

     Mary Delgado, Velvick’s long time fiance, was arrested Wednesday morning in Pinella County, Florida. Arrest reports state that Delgado hit Velvick in the face cutting his upper lip. Poor guy. Wonder if he saw it coming. Details on what caused the fight are still unkown.

     Some of you might remember Velvick on the popular reality TV show, The Bachelor, a couple of years ago. Mary Delgado is the same woman that he met on the show. The couple has been dating and most recently engaged ever since. The couple also fish on the Elite Series together, Velvick as a pro and Delgado on the back of the boat as a non-boater. With such a poor couple of season for Velvick, I wonder if the disagreement was over who was the better fisher-(wo)man?
