Caddyshack Catastrophe

Pro-Am events, such as this week’s Outback Pro-Am in Lutz, Florida can be fun for spectators. Sometimes they can also be dangerous. Such was the case this week when actor, Bill Murray (known for his part in the golf spoof, Caddyshack) drove his tee shot off of the 9th tee so badly that it sailed across the street and hit a woman on her front porch.

The woman, Gail DiMaggio was knocked unconscious. She was treated at the scene and taken to a local hospital.

Said Murray of his shot, “I wasn’t sure I was in bounds or not. And I saw this NBC golf cart coming at me and he said, ‘I hate to be the one to tell you this but you hit a lady. She’s down on the ground.’ That is, you know, sobering.”
