Camera Video goes HD

Cameras have been able to take HD resolution size pictures since 3 megapixels, but have only lately started to bring the quality of the video recordings they can do up. Only a few, upper-end cameras have been able to do video at 640×480 and 30 frames/second (TV quality), but Kodak is breaking that barrier once again. They have introduced the EasyShare V1253, V1233, and Z812 IS models that have 12 and 8 megapixel sensors respectively. The V1253 and V1233 are more consumer based models being a point-and-shoot design while the Z812 IS is a prosumer camera with a body somewhat like an SLR. Both cameras are able to capture video at 720p resolution at 30fps and in 16:9 size.
In addition, they also released a new EasyShare dock that has HDTV outputs (type not specified). The dock allows users to play an HD-quality slideshow as well as edit single images, transfer images to a USB flash drive, or print a picture to a connected printer, as well as charge the battery.
The V1253 is going for $299, the V1233 is $249, the Z812 IS comes in at $299, and the HDTV dock rounds out the list at $99.
