Canada’s Only Problogger?

I had lunch yesterday with several Montreal entrepreneurs, including Harry Wakefield, who may be Canada’s only problogger. Since 2003, Harry has been writing a well-regarded and popular modern contemporary design blog called Moco Loco. As far as I know, he’s the only Canadian blogger who’s part of the Federated Media advertising stable. Harry also generates revenue from AdSense (far more than the $1/day most of us squeeze from the Google coffers!), TextLink Ads and direct advertisers. With probably enough income from his blog to pay the bills, Harry’s pursuing some other entrepreneurial ventures, including one that should see the light of day in a couple of months ago.
Update: It turns out that there are other probloggers in Canada. At b5media, Arieanna Foley has been blogging (and editing) full-time for the past two years.

Sorry wait what – whats the definition of ‘problogger’ here? Being part of FMA?
If you can make a living from blogging, then you’re a problogger – at least how I define it.

Surely b5 counts then? Even we have a Canadian who does it fulltime.
Btw – the canadawebtwo.com link goes to nowhereland.
Well, you may be right on the b5 front. Thanks for the tip on canadawebtwo.com.

We’ve got a guy too – http://www.davidcubed.com – started fulltime for us in August 2k5.
I just find it stunning that we only have three fulltime bloggers – unless you meant probloggers using FMA, at which point I apologize and hide in shame :)
Thanks Ahmed. :) I know I haven’t been “problogging” as long as some others, but I have been blogging since 2002ish and have been a problogger for almost 2 years. Full time.
So, no one can say they are the only Canadian Problogger and those writing stories should try to remember that out of a population of over 30 million there at least has to be more than one.
O and since I’m here – wanted to add – new design is *way* better than the previous one – kudos.
John Chow dot com – He’s out of Vancouver. He even made the national papers a couple of months ago, click my name link for a post on it.
