Carlos Boozer and the Utah Jazz seemed destined to divorce this summer. That will become even more certain if the Jazz match the offersheet Paul Millsap received from the Portland Trail Blazers. With the Jazz desperate to shave salary, Boozer’s bloated contract is on the chopping block.
Where could Boozer be headed? The first team that makes a lot of sense is the Chicago Bulls. The Bulls could use a power forward with offensive skills and Boozer fits that need. A Bulls team with Boozer could really make noise in the Eastern Conference.
The Detroit Pistons are another team that makes sense. the Pistons are rebuilding and Boozer is a talented piece that could keep them in contention as they rebuild their core.
Since Boozer only has one year left on his deal, the New York Knicks are said to be interested. The Knicks want salary cap room next summer and adding Boozer could potentially open up even more room under the cap.
In 32.4 minutes per game, Carlos Boozer averaged 16.2 points, 10.4 rebounds and 2.1 assists. He has spent the last five seasons with the Jazz after beginning his career with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
