Cartes du Ciel: Cool Free Star Chart Software

I was watching this video produced by Vern:

and I was reminded of this free software for making star charts on your computer. If you’re interested in learning about the sky, this is a great piece of software. I used it a lot when I was a Windows PC user. Since it is only available for Windows, I can no longer use it. (I’m on a Mac now)

It’s a really great program. It’s free and offers lots of features and you can download it here.

BTW: I think Vern is onto something here with these videos. He should produce them each week so I can see what’s going to happen in the sky and not have to work hard to find it out. This would be a great service he could do in his spare time, of which I’m sure he has plenty (huh Vern?).
