Fans of Casey Stoner will have to wait for three races before they can again watch their favorite racer take a modern sports bike around a MotoGP race track at break-neck speeds. Casey was given the okay to take a break to get his health in order and put his body right before coming back to the track. This was announced by Ducati MotoGP Project Leader Livio Suppo as MotoGP gets set to head to the Cardion AB Czech Republic Grand Prix in a few days.

Stoner had stayed in California in order to undergo a series of medical tests after the Laguna Seca race but doctors weren’t able to give Stoner and his team a definite answer about Stoner’s constant fatigue. They were able to tell him that his body chemistry indicated slight gastritis and mild anemia but this didn’t make Stoner feel any better. Upon return to his home ground of Australia his symptoms returned during his brief summer break, so it was decided at that time to let him take a three race break to rest and recuperate his health. The doctors at that time suggested he take it easy and stop doing any strenuous activities at all, such as riding his favorite horse, which was difficult for him according to sources.

Stoner is probably under going tests as we speak, there’s only a short amount of time between now and his expected return for the Portuguese Grand Prix at the start of the month of October. If everything goes as planned he should be able to make it back for this race but let’s give him the benefit of the doubt in case his problems persist. It’s always better to error on the side of caution in cases where you’re not exactly sure what’s wrong and it’s good to see that his team is concerned about his health.

Ducati has had to call in another racer to take Stoner’s place on the race bike while he’s getting his health and body in order. They have called in Mika Kallio from Ducati satellite team Pramac Racing to race their Desmosedici race bike in the next three races. It should be quite the adventure for Kallio and watching how he does in Stoner’s absence should be enlightening.
