Cash Please…I’ll Take That Now, Thank You. Zappos Has A Great Idea

Phil Gerbyshak over at Slacker Manager made this post about how
Zappos (the shoe company) is considering paying its employees to leave the company. The strategy is to encourage those who aren’t 100% committed to the mission of the company to go ahead and bail out now rather than affect moral and productivity down the road. Do I think this is a good idea? Heck yeah!
I have worked at a couple of jobs where I was unhappy but did it anyway because it paid the bills. I’m sure most of you have. And these weren’t McDonald’s jobs or anything like that. They were corporate designed, desk jobs with benefits and vacation time. I just was not happy. You see, I have this thing called an “entrepreneurial bug.” Having my own business is just in my blood.
So if my employer had offered me that cash incentive to leave, I would have done so in a big hurry. You can’t always look at how things are now, but consider where you want things to be and take steps to get there. You won’t be happy until you do.
What would you do? Would you take the cash and run or stay and have job security? Remember, everybody’s different so there’s no right or wrong answer.

i saw this and sadly was like, take the money and run, thats more than i make in a week!
Yeah, how does that song go? Ooooh-oooooh take the money and run. Right on, sister!
