Cash trade becomes official

It’s a done deal… Swin Cash has been traded to the Seattle Storm for the 4th pick in the 2008 WNBA Draft.

From the Seattle Post-Intelligencer:

It’s not often a team trades two top-10 picks within a month, but the Storm is tired of first-round exits in the playoffs (three consecutive seasons).

In January, chief operating officer Karen Bryant brought Agler in from his assistant’s post in San Antonio to give Seattle another season like 2004, when the franchise provided the city’s lone professional sports championship in the past quarter-century.

“Obviously it’s going to be with different personnel,” Agler said. “But I think the people in Seattle sort of expect that — to be competitive and put yourself in a position to win a championship.”

The 28-year-old Cash average 11.1 PPG last season and 12.9 PPG over her career.
