Don’t play video poker at a casino. Like every machine in the casino, it is designed for you to lose every last quarter in your pockets. If you need any proof, just watch someone else play before grabbing a seat.
If you do play, most of your wins will come from jacks or better (your money back) or two pair (your money back). Occasionally, you will hit a straight or three of a kind but that will only net your 3-4x your money back which will be gone in just a few instants. Should you get a flush, you will receive 6x.
The grand prize is of course the Royal Flush which will get you 500x your money. Of course, this comes nowhere near reflecting your actual odds.
The game is based on 5 card draw. You will hold the cards you want to keep and draw on those you discard.
