Celebrity Look Alikes, Hockey Style

Calgary Flames v Colorado Avalanche

Just came across this fabulous list of athlete look alikes from SI. It’s funny, because a few weeks ago I wrote about Joe Sakic and his losing fight with a snow blower, and at the time I kept thinking, “He looks like someone.” I just couldn’t place who he reminded me of.

Leave it to SI to come up with his celebrity twin: Harry Connick, Jr.

Come on, you can kind of see it, can’t you? The eyes and mouth especially.

The SI list has 28 look alikes. Some of them are pretty good, like Marian Gaborik and Ricky Schroder, and Chris Drury and Luke Wilson (these two are so close it’s spooky).

Some are incredibly lame, like Nicklas Lidstrom and Neal Patrick Harris (no resemblance whatsoever!) or Jason Arnott and Randy Travis (not even close!)

Some are just plain mean. Comparing Andrei Markov to (Mr. Bean) Rowan Atkinson? Or Jarome Iginla to Mike Tyson? (Mike Tyson, incidentally, should NEVER be used as a comparison. It’s the teeth… and the weird biting off ears thing.)

The MEANEST by far is the Alexander Ovechkin to Richard Kiel comparison. I mean, really: Richard Spooky Face Kiel!

Richard Kiel

For some reason the one that offended me the most was the Martin Brodeur to John Corbett comparison, mostly because of the absolutely horrible picture they use of normally very cute John Corbett! How they found a mug-shot looking photo of our dear John is beyond me. I take offense!

Anyways, it’s a fun list. Do check it out and let me know your favorite.
