Charlie Weis = The Next Tyrone Willingham?

After watching Michigan thoroughly embarass Notre Dame in its home stadium I couldn’t help but wonder whether Charlie Weis is the second coming of Tyrone Willingham. Like Willingham, Weis had an excellent first season. Like Willingham, Weis and Notre Dame had high expectations coming into their second seasons. Like Willingham, Weis and Notre Dame have underperformed thus far in their second seasons.
Unlike Willingham, Weis received a 10-year contract after completing his 9-3 inaugural season. The only other major difference between these two is that Weis is white and Willingham is black. I am not qualified to do more than point that out but there could definitely be some issues around this point if Weis doesn’t pan out.
So, I wonder how this one will end. Maybe instead of firing Weis, Notre Dame can just require him to eat his way out of the contract. Lord knows Weis can eat.
Is there any chance Michigan has returned to championship form, or should I expect another apperance at the Alamo Bowl?

When did Michigan ever leave championship form? Under Lloyd Carr the Wolverines have won 5 big ten titles 1 National Championship and have had several BCS bowl appearances.Last year Michigan was one win and a little help removed from a BIG 10 title. Michigan should have been invited to the Citrus (capital one) Bowl but Iowa lobbied hard. Michigan has been a New Years team and will continue to be so.
