Cheap Trick “The Latest”

Cheap Trick hasn’t released an album since their 2006 effort, Rockford, but they’ve returned with The Latest which was produced by Julian Raymond and Howard Willing.
It’s hard to believe but this group has been making music for 35 years so it’s only fitting that on this anniversary album, the original members collaborated – Robin Zander is on lead vocals and guitar, Rick Nielsen provides the guitar and backup vocals, Bun E. Carlos is on drums/backups and Tom Petersson handles the bass/backups.
Since Cheap Trick is known for being on the road almost continuously, it shouldn’t be a surprise that they are currently touring with Def Leppard and Poison. It’s shaping up to be a busy year for the band since, in addition to the tour, they are performing the theme song from the Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen soundtrack and will deliver their interpretation (accompanied by a full orchestra) of the Beatles’ 8th album, Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, at the Las Vegas Hilton in September.
