Checkmate

What happens when you take clay, the love of adventure games and a chessboard? Well, you get chess pieces that look like adventure game characters, that’s what!

Check these out:

Okay, so how do you know which ones are the king and queen and pawn and so forth? Even if you don’t play chess, this is still the coolest chess set EVER.

I found these cool chess pieces over at Lively Ivy, aka Erin “The Ivy” Robinson. Erin is well known (famous really) for her adventure games, humorous comics and wacky antics. Now, I’m not sure if she herself made the chess pieces, but I do know she made some killer penguins with clay and you just can’t go wrong with killer penguins.

Just wanted to point out that the chess set was made by “BioJ,” one of my readers (I should really make that more obvious).

Glad you thought they were awesome too. :) I once made a fimo chess set based on the characters in an old PC game called “BattleChess 4000.” I’m sure my mom kept it…somewhere… :)

I must give a golf clap to BioJ. He’s awesome.
