Chelsea Football Club has offered to help in the prepapration of the Chinese Olympic football team in London for the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

This news will help promote relations between Beijing and London. The latter will be hosting the Summer Olympics in 2012. After the news of the mayors of each city signing a sister-city agreement, which is effective for 5 years, cooperation on the games is expected to improve.

The Chinese Football Association (CFA) and Chelsea are discussing the possibility of the Chinese team using the club’s new training ground at Cobham as a training camp in preparation for the upcoming Summer Olympics in 2008.

“Chelsea is a staunch supporter of London as a city, the 2012 Olympics and also wants to continue to develop its football relations with China. These ideas could help promote and give benefit to Chinese football.”

I wonder however if we can expect the same kind of training as Chelsea’s from the Chinese Footballers, if they do go through with it. ;)
