The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, or the CPSC, has recalled 15,000 children books due to a strangulation hazard. The item in question is a cloth book imported by Sterling Publishing — a company located in New York.
The cloth book is called eebee’s “Have a Ball” Adventure and features a ball attached to a string. By becoming entangled in the attached basketball hoop, young children may be at the risk of strangulation. To date, no injuries or incidents have been reported.
If you think you own one of these books, first check the ISBN. The recalled cloth books have an ISBN of 13:978-1-4027-5771-6. They were sold for about a year starting in June of 2008.
The CPSC urges parents to take the cloth book away from children to prevent injury. BY taking it back to the place of purchase, you should be able to get a full refund. If you have any problems trying to return the product, your best bet may be to email Sterling Publishing at custservice@sterlingpublishing.com.
