China Open: Who’s On to the Semifinals?
Well, not all the matches have finished yet, but there’s quite a few of the ladies passing on to the semifinals already.
Top seed, Amelie Mauresmo defeated Tiantian Sun 6-3, 6-2 and moved on to the semifinals. Against whom is yet to be determined, but I bet it will be against Lindsey Davenport, assuming the American player can defeat Jie Zheng.
Jelena Jankovic has moved on to the semifinals as well, defeating Marion Bartoli 6-3, 6-2. She’ll be facing either Petrova or Danilidou. My money’s on Petrova.
Shuai Peng defeated Maria Kirilenko 5-7, 6-4, 6-2, and will be going up against Ai Sugiyama, who beat out fourth seed Nicole Vaidosova 6-4, 1-6, 6-3.
Svetlana Kuznetsova is also on to the semifinals after Jelena Kostanic quit in the first round.
