Christmas Shopping List for Your Astronomy Buff

This is the time of year when we all start thinking about what we want to get our loved ones for the holidays. Well, most of us, I’m still being contrary, I’ll wait till January.
If you’re thinking about buying something astronomy-related for your astronomy buff, I have some ideas for you. These are essentially the things I want, so feel free to get them for me if you don’t have an astronomy buff of your own to buy for.
- Renewal subscription to Sky and Telescope magazine.
- Membership to the International Dark Sky Association.
- Coronado PST H-alpha Solar Telescope. These guys are currently offering a $100.00 rebate when you buy one for Christmas.
- A pair of binoculars
- This CCD Camera
- This iOptron Telescope
- A telescope adapter for a digital camera (let’s you attach your digital camera to a telescope eyepiece)
- A handheld GPS unit. These are great for entering date/time/location into your telescope handset or laptop. I also like to walk around in circles and watch the little arrow turn.
- One of these. Mostly because I wanna stand up and point a gun at the sky.
- This flashlight. Who the hell would spend $300.00 on a flashlight? Not me, I’m asking for one for Christmas.
- This tie. If you’re gonna give an astronomy buff a tie for Christmas, make it this one.
- This T shirt.
Well, that’s all I can think of for now. I’ll have more to come….
