Citi, the financial services company with about 200 million customers around the world, announced that they support President Barack Obama’s “United We Serve” campaign. The campaign calls for Americans to participate in the United States’ renewal and recovery by going out and serving local communities.

Said Pam Flaherty, Citi Foundation’s CEO and President: “United We Serve is a call for all of us to make volunteering and community service part of our daily lives and the life of our nation. Citi employees have been dedicating their free time to community service projects for many years and President Obama has now inspired them to do even more to help revive the economy and create a strong foundation for the future.”

Citi says they will focus on clean energy, health care reform, education and community renewal in more than 80 nationwide events.

It will be interesting to see how many other companies step up to the plate and voice support for “United We Serve”.
