Click & Type (I never noticed)

May 17, 2006 by Jason Bean

Did you ever notice there was a feature in Word 2000 called Click and Type? Basically if you hovered your mouse around the center of the page you would see the center align graphic as your mouse pointer. You could then double-click and begin typing centered text on the page. Same goes with left or right-align as well.

I never noticed this feature before, maybe with the new ribbon feature in Office 2007 more people will now know as well.

Thanks again Jensen.

  1. Hmmm… Doesn’t work in Word 2003 though…

This feature is nice, but brings back a problem with Word 12 that I am having. After installing Office 12, I noticed the Normal template had 10pt after spacing with Multiple@1.5 line spacing. I fix the Normal template but when I use this feature, the old spacing comes back.
