CM Punk Costs ‘New Breed’ Member a win

Last week we saw CM Punk join the new breed. This week he could have put the alliance in jeopardy. After being introduced as the newest member of the faction Punk went on to cost the New Breed’s Elijah Burke a possible victory. Burke and Original Rob Van Dam seemed evenly matched until RVD got tangled up with the ref. Punk looked to help his teamate by giving him a steel chair to finish of RVD but instead it was RVD who picked up the chair and finished of Burke for the win. Here are the rest of the results for the night:

  • Tommy Dreamer & Sandman def. Kevin Thorn & Marcus Cor Von
  • Snitsky def. Little Guido

Very average ECW yet again. I really liked this brand when it first started with Kurt Angle, Big Show, and RVD but I am simply losing faith in the brand. It seems to have so little momentum especially given the announcement CM Punk made last week that seemed to change nothing. I just hope the WWE realligns ECW and does something original because right now I don’t see this brand lasting very long if the fans keep seeing the same feud and matches over and over again. We’ll have to see if anything transpires on ECW next week or not but right now  it looks like Bobby Lashley might be ECW’s only representative at Backlash.

While Backlash is still more than a week away I wanted to remind readers that we will have live results and coverage from the WWE pay-per-view right here on Jab and Grapple.
