It’s Sunday and time for another Coffee Break. This week I thought it would be interesting to look at some of the best practices of writing a blog.
One important aspect of good blogging is its stickiness factor – in other words, once a reader finds your blog – how long do they stay and will they come back?
This article by Gregory Go on about.com discusses ways to make your blog stickier.
Michael Martine on Remarkablogger relates classic marketing tips from David Ogilvy to the sticky business of blogging. Read What Public Relations 1.0 Teaches us About Blogging to learn about the optimal use of headlines, images, copy and more.
Alan Johnson, guest posting on CopyBlogger discusses the importance of following your passion when blogging, in The Art of Blogging: Business or Pleasure?
Jamie Harrop does an excellent job of demonstrating passion as he explains his techniques for creating stickiness on his sight. I especially like his idea of posting eye-catching headlines of upcoming posts, to ensure you subscribe or return for more! Read more in his article Readers and Subscribers. Prospects and Customers?
And I’ll finish out the week with an interesting interview from Weekend Entrepreneur with Nancy McCord, founder of McCord Web Services. Her firm offers web design, e-newsletter design, content creation and subscriber management. Nancy McCord, founder of McCord Web Services has built her successful business over the past seven years while simultaneously raising her triplets!! Read From Interior Designer to Web Designer and Beyond and be sure to check out Nancy’s popular white papers including The Tangible Benefits of Blogging.
So, Be sure to stick with us at Business and Blogging for more exciting articles to come!
And if there are any topics you’d like us to discuss – let us know in the comments or directly via email!!
