Coming Soon: YouTube in Chinese

June 11, 2007 by Mike Abundo

While attending an Internet forum in Taipei Saturday, YouTube cofounder Steve Chen announced plans to launch a Chinese-language version of YouTube. To mark the occasion, here’s a YouTube hit from Guangzhou: the Back Dorm Boys, a.k.a. the Chinese Backstreet Boys.

Hope they fare better than Flickr, which is blocked in China. Half of YouTube’s users aren’t in the US, so translated versions would be a great idea.
