A recent commenter here at Light the Torch, Jem Apelar, is looking for Filipino-American (Fil-Am) athletes.
“I’m looking for Filipino Americans who compete in the collegiate level. Any sport including skiing and snowboarding. I recruited over a dozen who are now representing the Philippines in track, swimming, beach volleyball and skiing and snowboarding in the World competitions. If you know of anyone interested please let me know.” — Jem Apelar
It’s great to know that there are still people out there who believes in the Filipino (though Fil-Am, they’re still Filipinos me thinks) athleticism. I want to see more athletes representing my country who seems to have a difficult time rearing such individuals. This is simply because I believe that pinoys (Filipinos) can compete in a world-class scale.
