Consumer Protection: Who’s Going Green?

This website typically focuses on smaller businesses, but it is also important to stay up to date with the green changes happening at larger businesses. After all, as a small business, you probably order materials or products from larger companies. It is important to know who’s going green…and who isn’t…so you, in turn, can also be greener. The green effect trickles down!
Moreover, you can learn something from larger businesses. You might not be able to make the exact same changes, but you can take a page from their book and make similar changes in your small business.
And, if you are a business professional, not an owner, this information is important to you too, especially with Christmas coming up. Just because a product isn’t inherently green doesn’t mean that the company is all bad – and vice versus. Is it better to purchase a recycled plastic toy for your child from a company that is using coal energy or a non-recycled plastic toy for your child from a company using 75% green energy at the plant?
Over the next several weeks, Greener Assets will be exploring the green-ness of larger companies. Look for the the “Who’s Going Green” label on future posts to read about the green practice of corporations around the world.
