With the news that unemployment is up, and the likelihood that we will be seeing a jobless recovery increasing each week, your ability to get a job becomes important. And one of the most important things you can do is keep your resume
up to date. You may not be looking for a job right now, but in the current labor market, you never know when you will suddenly need your resume. Which means you need to keep it updated and relevant. Having an outdated or bad resume is one of the mistakes to avoid in a job hunt.
Every couple of months, go over your resume to make sure your accomplishments, objectives and work skills are updated. If you haven’t looked at your resume recently, you may need a complete resume makeover. Which brings me to a contest.
Win free, 30-day access to a resume service. Pongo Resume has generously decided to let me choose five readers to receive free access to their professional resume service for 30 days. There is no obligation to continue with the service. You can do a lot for your resume in 30 days.
How to win your free resume service acces: All you have to do is leave a comment below, telling me why you need resume help. I will use random selection to choose five people to receive this fantabulous prize. Just leave your comment by 11:59 p.m. Eastern on October 27, 2009.
Okay…ready, set, go!

I’d love to enter your contest! I need resume help because I’ve been unemployed for the past year. I’ve gotten many interviews but no offers. I need help, I’m tired of not getting the job.
Thank you!
I am returning to the job market after taking a year off to do volunteer work to hone my speaking and presentation skills, and I don’t know how to best present myself and my abilities on my resume. This would be a great prize to win!
I need help updating my resume before its been over a year since its been updated! Yikes!
Please enter me, my resume is getting terribly out of date!
I have worked in academia for some time and have a curriculum vitae, but resumes are quite different. I am considering a move to the private sector, and without a good resume, I’ve got no chance!
Sign me up! I’d love to hear some advice from a professional on how to better organize/write my resume.
Average resume! Need help!
Hi … it seems to me that having one resume is no longer acceptable. A person is supposed to tailor their skills to each job that they apply for. I have many experiences and skills and I am only 32 and just now graduating with my PhD. To go out and begin my job hunt I have been told that I will need to make a new cover letter and resume that is specific to the job specifications of each opportunity.
