Cool Tools: Duplicate File Searcher

Duplicate files are simply a waste of space but are often left unchecked due to the amount of effort needed to find these files. Plus, it makes your hard drive ridiculously disorganized.
Duplicate File Checker aims to simplify and automate the searching process. It offers several file comparison methods: by file name, file date, or file content. Files are deemed similar if they meet all the checked criteria. File content is checked using the MD5 or SHA hashing algorithms, or both.
No installation is necessary as the software uses Java Runtime Environment. Of course, you still need to download it.
However, note that the program lacks a progress bar to show the process of adding the specified folders and loading a large number of folders simultaneously might make you think that the software froze.
When I tested the program, cross checking 100 files just took a few seconds to finish and returned accurate results. Once done checking, the results can then be saved as an HTML file. You can also use the database option to cross check from multiple computers. The Duplicate File Checker is an intuitive software that does what it’s meant to do without too many bells and whistles.
The Duplicate File Searcher is compatible with Windows, Linux, Solaris and MacOS platforms.
