Who hasn’t heard of the overheating problems associated with the Xbox 360 consoles and the dreaded Red Ring of Death? Ugh. For heavy gamers, the pool cooling fans associated with the original consoles were not only a major pain but also sometimes meant they would have to live without the console while Microsoft took weeks (months?) to fix them and send them back.
The good news for this holiday season is that the Jasper-based consoles (which are fitted with better cooling systems) are reportedly in stores now. Here’s how to tell if you’ve got one of the improved systems:
- Your power supply uses 12.1A instead of 14.2A.
- Any model made on October 23rd 2008 or later is a Jasper model (check your serial number).
