Well looky here, I think I started something. Isn’t it funny how fast news spreads throughout the blogosphere. The news of Mr Vince Chan completely stealing the Problogger template for his own site, amblogger.net.
In all honestly, this guy is a genius. In a sick, twisted kind of way. There is no doubt that his site would be generating an astonishing amount of traffic right about now.

And while his stunt might get him a few hundred one-time visitors, it’s unlikely he’ll be able to keep any of them. Cheap stunts are just that, they don’t get you anywhere in the long run.
Personally I fail to understand why anyone would even WANT to steal the template from problogger.net but maybe that’s just me. There’s a whole lot of better designs out there to steal if you ask me ;)
Therefore it’s probably some cheap publicity stunt indeed which is, as Kyle indicated, not very beneficial in the long run.
I tend to agree with Marco – I think Darren’s content is great, but his is not the first design I’d steal. :)
I don’t think getting 2500 negative impressions is great traffic anyway–the growth is nice, but it’ll spike back down to sub100 levels unless he keeps pulling crazy stunts. That, and his writing is completely incoherent…

I’m making the rounds to read all the posts about this issue. The visitors can judge if they ever want to have anything to do with AmBlogger again. I’m more than content to have just 1 reader if that 1 truly likes it. I’ve been blogging for quite a while now and have shown that I have no quarrels about maintaining sites with mediocre traffic.
There isn’t any consicous thought with intent to do harm or hype things for myself. Just one bad decision compounded by another.
I asked “certain people” who they think should be this weeks”wanker of the week” and a vast majority said “Vince’s AMblogger. So I did and there he is.Just thought the title fits since all this talk has been going.
And Vince, if you are reading this, don’t take any offense, its just business =)
ps..if you have been blogging for a while, you would you still be an amateur?
by the way, “wanker of the week” is just someone nominated on one of our sites who has goofed up or done something pretty stupid to offend a lot of people..that week

No offense taken. I like people calling it the way it is. If it’s business, so be it!
Which brings me to my point… I’ve given the analogy of amateur blogging as opposed to the widely coveted professional blogging using sports metaphors. It’s coincidence that the Olympics are currently running. Before the Dream Team and other professionals got into the Olympics, such competitions were strictly reserved for “amateurs”.
Now, these amateurs have trained for years, and they also have sponsors. But their are still considered amateurs instead of pros. Ice skating is a perfect sport to illustrate the separation of these terms. Hope that helps!
P.S. Which site from the level9media network had this wanker of the week? I wouldn’t mind looking at myself!
