Corporate B2B Bloggers: When Will They Listen??

(www.businessandblogging.com) Based on the results of a recent report by Forrester Research , I think Corporate B2B Bloggers should start reading BusinessandBlogging.
Or if they are reading our blog - they should be putting our suggestions to work!
The report states that most Corporate B2B Bloggers:
- post too infrequently
- give up too soon
- and leave their personality at the door
Statistically speaking:
- 70% stick to business or technical topics
- 74% rarely get comments
- 56% use their blog merely as a forum for press releases
But instead of trying to fix the problem, it appears they are throwing out the baby with the bathwater – the corporations that Forrester watches started only 3 new blogs in 2008 as opposed to 36 in 2006. More than half say that blogging is only marginally significant or is even irrelevant to their strategies!
Instead of giving up on their blogs, and on the promise of blogging in general, they should come to Laura and me for a little advice.
We’d remind them of what we’ve been saying all along:
- Be consistent
- Be honest
- Be open
- Be responsive
- Be worth reading
What advice would you give a business blogger who says that blogging is a waste of time? Would you agree? Or would you offer some tips for making it a marketing success?
