I always love doing things interactively, it helps me handle my daily tasks smoothly and with ease. Technology indeed has lots of things to offer in terms of automation, that’s why they are created.
Recently, I had this project that requires me to gather some substantial data from selected respondents to aid my proposed business plan. I know that there are paid survey forms online but I am looking for a free one. Arrghh, and free is everywhere but I feel not liking this free services. But, until I found out that Google Spreadsheets allows me to do that thing; in a clean, instant, and interactive approach. Oh, it’s free definitely.
Google Spreadsheet has this cool feature of creating forms, some sort of survey forms, that directly feeds respondent’s results to the spreadsheet.
The following are the simple steps on how to create a form. I also included some screenshots showing each steps to help you visually. The steps are taken from Google Docs Help Center:
- Open/Create a new spreadsheet.
- Save the spreadsheet.
- Click the Share tab.
- Under ‘Invite people:’ choose the radio button to fill out a form.

- Click Start editing your form… In the form template that opens, you can add any questions and options you’d like.

- Click the Next, choose recipients tab. Here, you can add email addresses, a custom confirmation message, and choose whether you want people to see the responses.
- When you’re finished, click Send.

As you can see with the screenshot provided above, the results are populated in the spreadsheet you created. Thank you and I hope you too can try this one. Enjoy!

I like it, the company I work for always needs a way to collect results, questions, and suggestions. It’s going straight to my favs so I can find it when I get some time to play with it a little more.
Hi Regan, thanks for dropping by. Yes, really it allows us to collect data easily and later, just play with the formatting of spreadsheet. :)
