Cry For Chris Moneymaker: He Runs Bad

What is it about Chris Moneymaker that makes every poker player not like him?  Not only is there no fandom, but there’s little respect for his game among the poker community.

I’m no different.  I know he has the golden bracelet, but I’ll never be a fan, nor do I think he’s that good.

There’s a cool post at 2+2 about how CM walked up to a table after he busted out of a tournament and announced how bad he ran in tournaments.

The whole complaining about bad beats gets really old.  Really, really old.  Especially coming from a guy that won a WSOP bracelet.  Let’s face it, no matter how good you are, you’ve got to run great to even breath on the last 10 tables of that tournament.

A few of the posters commented on Joe Hachem’s “Just one time” line.  I thought that was so funny because I was rolling my eyes when I heard him calling for a hand to go his way just one more time.  If I remember correctly, there was one crucial hand at the final table he played extremely horrible and ended up winning.  He had something like Q6 and pushed trying to steal and busted pocket 9s.  I think he’s had his one time.

Poker players are funny.  Every night I cry a little bit for Chris Moneymaker.  I’ve never had bad luck – ever – and this poor guy can’t seem to catch a break in tournaments.  Poor Chris Moneymaker.  Be sure to cry for him too and send donations his way to buttress his slowing endorsement money.  Come on, don’t be greedy.  None of us have ever run bad.  We always have great luck so in the spirit of Obama, let’s spread some wealth.
