PIE… eaten by the lonely people… PIE… eaten by the lonely people… [spoken:] Hi! Eleanor Rigby here to tell you about Cutie Pies…
Congratulations to Aime Stewart, the owner and operator of Maryland-based start-up Cutie Pies, who won the b5 media Business Channel “Jump Start Your Business” contest. In addition to this invaluable exposure on FranchisePick.Com, Aime will also receive a b5media Prize Pack valued at more than $2000 including free financial software, web hosting, tee shirts and more – and valuable business advice from the business professionals at b5media. Plus, she’ll receive a cassette recording of me singing PIE… eaten by the lonely people (with apologies to both Paul McCartney and Father McKenzie).
Cutie Pies is a single-serving pie business featuring fresh-baked 4 inch Cutie Pies. The idea is to provide an option for folks who love the idea of pie (a huge market. Literally.) but who have no friends* with whom to share an entire pie. Until Cutie Pies, unpopular people (i.e. bloggers) had to suffer the constant reminder of their alienation by facing the uneaten portion of their pie until it was entirely consumed (2 weeks for the average person. 20 minutes for me.)
According to Kelly at Tax Girl, our judges thought that Aime’s idea was innovative, creative and well presented. The judges felt Aime has the beginnings of a successful business: she has a great idea, a plan to make it happen, a team to help her out, milestones for progress and motivation. They think that the prizes and advice that she walks away with will help her reach her goal of getting Cutie Pies into retail outlets, including grocery stores, restaurants and coffee shops.
I am looking forward to sharing more of my marketing ideas and pie-related song adaptations with Aime, including Greenbaum’s Spirit in the Pie, John Denver’s Rocky Mountain Pie, The Four Tops’ Cutie Pie, Honey Bunch, and Hank Williams’ I’m So Lonesome I Could Pie.
A Cutie Pies franchise opportunity and record label are both rumored to be in the works. Remember, you heard it on FranchisePick.Com first. Congratulations, Aime!
* Actually, the “lonely people” hook is my idea, not Aime’s… possibly a result of my new friend-free reclusiveness which started, coincidentally, when I started blogging.

The Cutie-Pie concept is great! It’s not an entirely new product but people are really loving this new way of having pies. Think of all the previously untapped market of pie lovers who don’t want to buy a whole pie only to have it stay in the ref for weeks. It makes me think of what other products can be deconstructed in the same way.
Aime. Thanx!

Are you shaking down FranchisePick.Com subjects for free pie? Have you no shame? Did it work?
You should be ashamed of yourself!
