Dallas leaders, including T. Boone Pickens, Emmitt Smith, and Roger Staubach have rallied to attempt to move the National College Football Hall of Fame from South Bend, Indiana to the Dallas metro area.

Says Dallas mayor Tom Leppert,

“This is a great football city. Dallas would be a great place for it. They’ve been very open to the ideas that we’re putting forward.”

The group is willing to pay for the entire cost to move the Hall of Fame by raising funds privately. The hall would be beside a planned hotel in the heart of the city, and the group believe they have a chance at winning the vote because National Football Foundation president and CEO Steve Hatchell is a long-time resident of Dallas.
