Dara Torres Qualifies in Women’s 50m

Michael Phelps says he calls her “mom.” So does two-year-old, Tessa (pictured in her mother’s arms above). However, in the pool, 41-year-old Dara Torres is proving she’s no one to take lightly. The four-time Olympian qualified for her second event last night at the US Olympic Swimming Trials Meet in Omaha, finishing first in the women’s 50m freestyle event. Torres previously qualified in the women’s 100m freestyle.
Finishing second and also qualifying for Beijing was 21-year-old Jessica Hardy.
