Daunte Culpepper feels abused

Last year was not Daunte’s year. After four games the effects of his knee surgery began to bother him too much.

They were not exactly his best four games either. We are talking 2 TD passes and 1 TD rushing. After that, the knee would not hold and he sat out the season.

Now it looks like the Dolphins are ready to show Daunte the door. He is allowed to use the practice facilities, but can’t practice with the team.

Daunte is angry. This just isn’t right.

Daunte was willing to restructure his 10 year deal with Minnesota in order to come to the Dolphins. He feels he has a lot of good football left in him. The Dolphins feel otherwise…

“I adjusted my deal so that it would be best for the Dolphins because I wanted to be here that bad,” Culpepper said in a statement. “Part of my frustration is that I now have to let go of a dream that has become a nightmare.” source

Culpepper thinks the Dolphins should give him a chance to compete. They think otherwise.

If that is so, Daunte thinks the Dolphins should just release him so he can latch on to a team quickly and begin to contribute and learn the system. The Dolphins, again, think otherwise. They are waiting for the right trade.

Daunte is angry. This just isn’t right.

“I am now waiting for the Dolphins’ management to do what is right and fair by granting my release, so that I can find a team that will appreciate my talent and love for the game of football,” Culpepper said in the statement….

“I do not want to cause any disruption while I wait, so I will only be at the facility in order to run and lift. What happened yesterday in the team meeting and on the field was unfair to both me and my teammates. source

To emphasis his point, Daunte has called in the Players Union for justice.

Daunte Culpepper is feeling abused.

Maybe Daunte forgot, it is just business, not personal.
