Lindsay Davenport didn’t look so good in the Fed Cup. Davenport came into the competition with a career 31-2 Fed Cup record. This event? It’s her powerhouse.

But in the quarterfinal match-up between the United States and Germany in the Fed Cup, Sabine Lisicki dispatched Davenport 6-1, 7-5.

“I wish I did [have an explanation for her poor play],” said Davenport. “I’ll have to figure out a reason tonight so it doesn’t happen again tomorrow.”

Ashley Harkleroad posted a 6-3, 6-1 win over Germany’s Tatjana Malek in the best-of-5 series to even it up at 1-1.

Davenport was supposed to face Malek today. Due to rain-outs, Davenport has an extra day to go looking for her A game for the next time she steps on the court.
