21. South Florida (9-3)
22. Cincinnati (9-3)
23. Auburn (8-4)
24. Boise State (10-2)
25. UConn (9-3)

Who would have thought, on week one, that we’d end up with a leader board that looks like that??? Do you remember where we started:

1. USC (currently #7)
2. LSU (#2 – wow, they got one right!)
3. West Virginia (#9)
4. Texas (unranked)
5. Michigan (unranked)
6. Florida (#12)
7. Wisconsin (unranked)
8. Oklahoma (#4)
9. Virginia Tech (#3)
10. Louisville (unranked)
11. Ohio State (#1)
12. California (unranked)
13. Georgia (#5)
14. UCLA (unranked)
15. Tennessee (#16 – not too bad of a prediction!)
16. Rutgers (unranked)
17. Penn State (unranked)
18. Auburn (#23)
19. Florida State (unranked)
20. Nebraska (unranked)
21. Arkansas (unranked)
22. TCU (unranked)
23. Hawaii (#10 – they surprised us all)
24. Boise State (#24 – spot on)
25. Texas A&M (unranked)

The Pac-10 and Big 10 were huge disappointments this year, with some surprising results from other conferences. Missouri was the unofficial #26 coming into the season, but they landed in bowl territory. In the AP Pol, Clemsen got 6 points (as compared to #25, who got 162 votes), but here they sit at #15. Same with Boston College – they got 14 votes, but now they’re sitting at #14 (ironic, no?)

And then there’s Texas, Michigan, Wisconsin, Louisville, California, UCLA…yuck. Those fans don’t even want to talk about it. Let’s not forget the USC hype – how it was going to be USC and LSU in the National Championship game FOR SURE. At #7, they’ll still get their bowl, but Ohio State, by default, will be taking their place for the title.

The real question is, who do you think is really number one? Does Ohio State deserve the chance to play for the title? Does LSU? More to come on that tomorrow…

LSU will beat Ohio State in a total blowout… end of story.

I still think the most satisfying part of this season was Notre Dame’s record.

  2. Lia says:

Ohio will beat the crap out of LSU. LSU doesn’t deserve to be in the national championship in my opinion. But hey they are but their in for a real beating.

  3. Tim says:

I believe Ohio’s gonna run the table on LSU. LSU’s just not an overpowering team, and I really don’t expect them to do much against the Buckeyes’ defense. In all honesty, I think that Ohio State should be playing this game against either Oklahoma or Georgia.

On a different note, somebody PLEASE tell me how Kansas got the nod for a BCS Bowl game instead of Missouri? Mizzou may have lost 2 games during the season, but they were both against the same team (no. 4 Oklahoma) and there’s a 2-loss team playing for the National Championship. They beat Kansas … the won the Big 12 North & finished ahead of KS in the conference … AND, they finished the season ranked higher than Kansas in the BCS. It’s a simple matter that the media has favored Kansas over Mizzou this entire season, so it’s not very surprising that we’d see this sort of bias at the end of a great Tigers’ season.

  4. Amy says:

KU IS AMAZING SO SHUT UP……ROCK CHALK JAYHAWK BABY…we owned the orange bowl! MIZZOU SUCKS!
