“Deep Impact” Now on DVD

When Deep Impact came out right around the same time as Armageddon a lot of people felt like they were seeing double. The truth is that, yes, the films are similar but you don’t have to choose between them (I happened to like Armageddon more but astronomers said that Deep Impact was more scientifically accurate).
The plot of this movie is basically that a huge rock hits the earth, people die and Hollywood pumps out yet another disaster movie. Okay, it’s a little more involved than that. Elijah Wood is an amateur astronomer who discovers that a comet is about to hit the earth. So, for the rest of the movie, he a nd his co-stars (mainly Téa Leoni, Morgan Freeman and Robert Duvall) try to find a way to destroy it before it collides with our planet and kills everyone.
Fans of this movie might be happy to know that it is now available on Blu-ray so if you’ve been wanting to watch this doomsday flick on your flat-screen TV, now’s the time to pick it up!
