One of the surprises at yesterday’s US Olympic Track and Field Qualifying Meet was the failure of defending Olympic Gold Medalist, Dwight Johnson to qualify for the team in the long jump event. He finished fourth behind Trevell Quigley, Brian Johnson, and Miquel Pate, who all qualified for the team. Quigley won the event with a jump of 27′ 5″. All three qualifiers are first-time Olympians.
