Yeah, I saw that. I don’t know what Newton’s thinking sometimes, man. The problem with him is that he usually has some valid points, but he contradicts himself time and time again (like with the Stewart story … which you forgot to mention that Newton had him pegged to be driving for Hendrick AND Haas CNC next season).

Btw, Theresa has already refuted the rumors about DEI being for sale.

Now Newton is saying that DEI might be for sale. But this is Newton, who wrote about JGR starting a fourth team for Joey Logano when he is ready yet still insists that Stewart will be leaving JGR after this year and Logano will replace him.
My own rumor is that Newton will be replaced at ESPN.com by Ed Hinton.

To me, it wasn’t so much the fact that she denied Jr. majority ownership of the company … there was just something about the way she handled herself during the negotiations. Besides, I’ve gotta have someone to loathe in this business!

To be fair, and unbiased, to give 52% of the ownership of the organization to Jr. would probably have resulted in lawsuits by other members of the family, such as Kerry Earnhardt, who would have been next in line to own the business by probate law.

Yeah, I dunno. I try to give unbiased views when it comes to pretty much anyone in the sport, but I was pretty appalled with the way that Theresa handled the negotiations with Dale Junior last year, and I just haven’t been a fan ever since.

I’m not usually a bandwagon jumper, but I am about ready to jump on the “DEI is Screwed Up” wagon.
That could even result in letting Jr Nation off the hook I have had them on.
