In Cheswold, Delaware a debate is brewing about expansion of the Delaware Airpark. In order to meet FAA safety guidelines the airport will need to acquire an additional 200 acres of property to make room for the expansion. The 200 acres includes land owned by private individuals so the Delaware Department of Transportation is offering them the fair market value of their property.

The residents, however, don’t totally agree with the prices they are being offered.

“I just want a little bit of justice … fair market value for my land,” he said. “We’ve all been contacted by many real estate

for our farms, and DelDOT is not even touching some of the numbers they’ve presented.”

This kind of thing is happening a lot recently. Is it happening at your airport? Tell us about it below!
