Dell and Sony Corporate blogs

A look at 2 very different corporate blogs. Dell reaches its first anniversary this month and Lionel Menchaca has posted a look back with some lessons learnt.

Customers really are in control—and it’s okay. I think more companies are starting to acknowledge this, but it’s a concept that scares the heck out of them. I’m willing to bet that this is still a key reason less than 10% of Fortune 500 companies maintain a blog.

Always a key concern that always gets asked when agencies and companies are new to this area. Lionel was on a panel at Mesh and expands on Dell’s approach there.

Via Josh Bernoff, I see that Sony Electronics have started a blog. Sony as a whole have not always worked well within the read/write web, in social media so it’s good to see them embracing this area far more authentically
